PARO

Paro is home to Bhutan’s most iconic landmark, Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang Lhakhang), perched on a cliffside at 3,120 meters. The valley is dotted with historical and cultural treasures like Rinpung Dzong, a majestic fortress, and the National Museum of Bhutan, which offers insights into the country’s rich heritage. For breathtaking mountain views, a drive to Chele La Pass, the highest motorable pass in Bhutan, is a must.
THIMPHU
As the capital city, Thimphu blends modernity with deep-rooted traditions. The massive Buddha Dordenma statue overlooks the valley, symbolizing peace and prosperity. Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and clergy, is a stunning example of Bhutanese architecture. The Folk Heritage Museum offers a glimpse into traditional Bhutanese life, while the Weekend Market is the perfect place to shop for handicrafts and local produce.

PUNAKHA
Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan, is known for its stunning Punakha Dzong, built at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. This fortress-monastery is an architectural masterpiece, especially during the spring when the surrounding jacaranda trees bloom. Nearby, the Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of Bhutan’s longest, offers breathtaking valley views. The Chimi Lhakhang, or the Fertility Temple, is a revered site associated with Bhutan’s beloved "Divine Madman."
